EBarrios (WMF)
About me
I joined the Wikimedia Foundation from a diverse background in the creative arts and technology. My technical background has seen me working in the corporate sector, working for myself then finally arriving at the never-ending mission of righteous non-profits. In technology I’ve performed various functions within the Desktop Support realm including training/adoption, documentation, asset management and technology planning. In the creative arts, I have had the privilege of working (individually and collaboratively) on public projects and exhibiting at various museums and galleries domestically and internationally. My creative work can be seen here: http://elizabarrios.com.
When not working at the Foundation, I do my art practice including little slices of traveling to yummy, delicious and unfamiliar territories all over the world.
My work
In August 2015, I joined the foundation as IT Technical Support. In this role I primarily to provide support for both onsite and remote staff ensuring that everyone’s machine is working smoothly. Along with the ITS Team, I help to research and implement useful and efficient systems for the Foundation. Currently as Sr. IT Manager I oversee and manage the ITS & Working Environments Team as we support, plan and strategize internal operations for the Wikimedia Foundation.
