Resolution:Dissolving the Funds Dissemination Committee
This proposal has been approved by the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. It may not be circumvented, eroded, or ignored by Wikimedia Foundation officers or staff nor local policies of any Wikimedia project. This resolution was approved on March 23, 2022. |
Whereas, the Wikimedia Foundation has adopted a new funding strategy for its grants;
Whereas, the terms for the members of the Funds Dissemination Committee have all expired as of 2019;
Whereas, the role previously filled by the Funds Dissemination Committee regarding grants is now being carried out by the Regional Funds Committees;
Whereas, the role previously filled by the Funds Dissemination Committee regarding review of the Wikimedia Foundation's annual plan can be carried out through a community feedback process;
Whereas, the Community Affairs Committee has recommended that the Board of Trustees formally dissolve the Funds Dissemination Committee;
Now, therefore it is
RESOLVED, that the Funds Dissemination Committee is hereby dissolved; and
RESOLVED, that the Foundation shall organize facilitated community conversations about the draft fiscal year 2022-2023 annual plan before it is brought to the Board for final approval.
