Our client is a well-known global energy company that operates in over one hundred countries worldwide, specialising in the manufacture and supply of fuel, oil, gas and other related products and services in the energy sector (see www.bp.com). Background Our client is the copyright owner of the well-known BP Helios logo, a representation of which can be found at the url below. https://www.bp.com/etc/designs/refresh/bp/images/navigation/bp-logo.svg Issue We write in relation to https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bp-logo.jpg and specifically the image at https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c3/Bp-logo.jpg/800px-Bp-logo.jpg. See attached screenshot. Our client refers to this image as a "9 o'clock BP Helios" and is concerned because it is a version that has they never use. Our client assumes that this version has been created by an unrelated third party without permission. It seems that our client's partners are stumbling across this page and copying mand using this logo for legitimate purposes, thinking it is a correct version from a visual standards perspective. This is not the case. The correct version of the logo is the "1 o'clock BP Helios" which can be found at https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f3/BP_logo.png/150px-BP_logo.png Request In order to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the Wikimedia site, our client requests that the incorrect "9 o'clock BP Helios" version of the logo at https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c3/Bp-logo.jpg/800px-Bp-logo.jpg be removed. It appears that it is not possible to overwrite this file. We thank you in advance for your assistance and cooperation.
